Night Of Champions
Showdown is back with a another big show for the summer, Friday 2nd September at the Pryzm (old Gatecrasher) Broad street Birmingham “The Night Of Champions” will be held.
I talked to the promoter Keith Webb about the show and he told me this,
“As the name suggests, it really is the ‘Night of Champions’ with 4 title defenses and a 5th vacant Super Middleweight belt up for grabs!
The 3 Fiaz brothers are fighting on the same bill and we’re in for some mouth-watering bouts!!
Sher Fiaz is defending his title against Brandon Short! It will be explosive as well as a technical display of boxing! Both boxers are undefeated with Showdown Entertainment, someone’s 0 has to go!!
Shamrez Fiaz will be looking to take Nico Ogbeide’s belt. Again, if you’re looking for an explosive technical display you will not be disappointed.
Juran Jones steps back in to the ring to defend his title against Kyle Unitt! Juran beat Kyle in the semi-final of Showdown’s Prizefighter April 2015 so this has grudge match written all over it!!
Ricky Grimshaw takes on Scott Clark! Two good lads who have both fought on previous shows and are now battling it out to become Showdown’s Super Middleweight Champion!
Showdown’s newest champion, Shaun Duffy defends his Heavyweight belt against Dan Podmore. Both hard working fighters so looking forward to seeing who comes out on top!
Also showcasing on the night:
Our 3rd Fiaz brother, Akbar will be meeting Lenny Coley.
Our all female bout: Bec Connolly meets Katie Wilson.

Dexter’s Thoughts
Wow what a show the Night of Champions is shaping up to be 3 brother fighting on the
same show, with Nico Ogbeide defending his title, Juran Jones v Kyle Unitt, One to watch Jake Burridge making an appearance and last but no means least Shaun “The Destroyer” Duffy defending his Heavyweight title this is going to be a show you will not want to miss. With myself the former 3 times 2 weight CBU champ and head writer of the Birmingham boxing Column Dexter Hastings refereeing proceedings and of course Mr Jason Lowe as he master of ceremonies (Jason has been reporting boxing news for the last 9 year and now writes for 3 local newspapers but not only on boxing in Birmingham but all over the world. He has been a referee on Sky 1 League of there Own and also starred in the British film Jawbone. He is also the CEO and head trainer at the W.B.C women's boxing club which has been backed by Boxnation and many sports personality’s and celebrity’s). With Ellesse Holness one of showdown’s stunning ring girls you know this promotion has a formidable team.
Showdown “The Night Of Champions” 2nd September Plyzm Broad street Birmingham going to be a Great night.
