High Stakes Topped By Midlands Showdown

Midlands duo Paul Holt and Louis Fielding will go toe-to-toe for the vacant Midlands Area Super Featherweight Title next month.

The pair will lock horns at the top of Black Country Boxing’s ‘High Stakes’ show, sponsored by Grosvenor Casino Walsall, at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, 24th September.

Holt gets a second crack at a Midlands strap. The 25 year-old returned to action last month - defeating Joe Beeden on points - in his first fight since challenging for the area crown at featherweight just over a year ago.

‘The Incredible’ went this distance with Bobby Jenkinson despite suffering a broken jaw and will be determined to go one better when he meets Fielding for the strap recently vacated by Coventry’s Troy James.

‘Flash’ Fielding, is a year older than his opponent and has one more victory on his ledger.

Tickets are priced at £30 (general admission) and £60 (VIP Ringside), and can be purchased by calling 0845 111 2900 or directly from any boxer on the bill.

The undercard sees a host of local fighters in action.

Unbeaten Old Hill lightweight, Manny ‘Pac Man’ Zaber is plotting a course for a showdown with fellow Black Country lightweight, Les Byfield. Zaber was slated to appear on Black Country Boxing’s Dinner Show at Walsall Football Club earlier in September but has been moved to Walsall Town Hall.

Midlands cruiserweight pair – Wolverhampton’s Joshua Burke and Coventry’s Dilly Singh – are also in action.

Undefeated West Bromwich middleweight, Tom Stokes, will be looking to record an eighth straight win and is joined by fellow West Bromwich fighter, Tommy Loach. The welterweight is set to make his professional debut.

Undefeated Birmingham super welterweight, Luke Heron (Walker), completes the card alongside Newark’s former kickboxing world champion, super middleweight Chad ‘2 Slick’ Sugden.

The weigh-in and after show (over 18’s only) take place at Grosvenor Casino Walsall, Bentley Mill Way, Walsall WS2 0LE (just off junction 10 of the M6). Grosvenor Casino Walsall will have a presence at the Town Hall on the evening and have linked up with local taxi firm, Yellow Taxi’s, to supply a number of free taxi’s to take guests from the Town Hall to the casino post-fight.
