Dexter's Thoughts

It was great to see 2 of Birmingham's most inspirational boxers take time out to have pictures and talk to the fans. Craig is currently training for a fight at Villa park on the 24th July for the Tommy Owens Promotion show and had come straight after training so both champions could represent Eastside gym. Sam and Craig are the epitome of what hard work and dedication can get you, Sam came to Eastside looking to make a few quid as a journey man and is now ranked number 1 in Britain and is in the top 10 in the world rankings. Craig has also shown that hard work and determination can do, he won 2 Midland area titles last year at 2 different weights and then went on to beat the odds and become a Olympian slayer by stopping Anthony Ogogo to win the WBC International Middleweight title and also becoming the Birmingham Boxing Column's Boxer of the year. Both of these fighter are proof that if you believe it you can achieve it and are great role models for youth of the day. The Birmingham Boxing Column look forward to reporting on these 2 insperational boxers in the near future.
