Showy makes History on Debut
Birmingham own “Showy” Reiss Taylor made history when he made his professional debut at the prestigious York Hall Bethnal Green east London 14/10/17. The 26 year old made history by becoming the smallest professional boxer in Britain, standing at 4 foot 11 and with only 3 days notice he fought a very tough opponent and from reports applied himself well. Unfortunately Showy didn’t get the result in this 4 round fight against Kaisy Khademi from Afghanistan.
I caught up with Showy and asked him how he thought his debut went. The pint size warrior told me “It was a very tough debut against a boxer called Kaisy Khademi who was from Afghanistan, he came forward like a train truck and I ended up going to war with him. At the end of the fight the left side of his face was split open. I don't feel like I will get a fight as hard as that again for a good while and I look forward to coming back and getting back to winning ways”.
Showy has informed me that the fight will be shown on channel 4 in the next few weeks.
Dexter Thoughts
I have been waiting a long time for Showy to make his debut and what a place to make your pro debut. With only 3 days notice he went down to the prestigious York Hall Bethnal Green east London. Showy didn’t get the result but made history as the smallest professional boxer in Britain. I was gutted that I missed his debut as I was already committed to a show in Walsall but look forward to seeing him in his next fight hopefully in Birmingham.
