TOPromotions “Frank In Time”

Tommy Owens Promotions go once again with a festive fight night on the 28th October! is the aptly named Halloween-themed show at the Holte Suite, Aston Villa Football Club and the atmosphere promises to resemble the bubbling witches cauldron with a spicy atmosphere coupled with a fiery nights worth of entertainment.

It’s not the first time they have gone head-to-head with a big Matchroom event – but fear not! For those who wish to see Anthony Joshua defend his heavyweight titles against late-replacement Carlos Takam – the big fight will be shown on giant screens around the venue with the bars staying open so that all attendees can enjoy the big fight once the local action has been wrapped up.

In what looks a fantastic bout in the top of the bill, Tamworth’s Charlie Williams and Nottingham’s Nathan Williams collide in a bout at lightweight over ten rounds for the vacant Midland title. Williams has had to overcome spells of inactivity due to niggling injuries and was forced to a draw when he was floored on the Matchroom show – but has bounced back impressively and will be pumped up in front of his always vocal fans here to capture the Midland strap.

Prospect Tony “Blaze” Jones will be looking to increase his unbeaten run. Jones has been a regular feature of our shows here at the Villa and his repeated improvement has been shown by the increasing length of his unbeaten record – the only blemish being a draw. Last time out he impressed against hard-hitting dangerman Michael Mooney, and the bloodied Worcester man was halted in the second round due to a nasty cut.

Redditch’s blood and guts battler Carl “Wallop” Dickens will be back in action on the night. With only two bouts in the last two years, Dickens’ progress has slowed – but that could have been a blessing in disguise. In establishing a highly respectable 8-2 record since turning professional in 2013, Dickens has waged war in some memorable battles against the likes of Nicky Jenman and Sam Wall, but surely his most exciting win was his first (of two) over James Child back in 2014. Both left something in the ring that night and surely if we had been in a different time the pair would have been showered with nobbins at the conclusion of the contest. Dickens will be looking forward to climbing back through the ropes and getting another win under his belt.

A nice to addition to the card will be Ireland’s Ray Moylette. The County Mayo resident was a familiar face at highly respected international tournaments in the amateur ranks and repeatedly brought home medals as he scored wins over some of the best amateurs in the world. The Irishman was hoping to make the 2016 Olympic team but after being denied a spot he turned professional and has not looked back since – rapidly storming to an impressive 7-0 record in only seven months with several of those wins coming in America.

We also have two Coventry prospects on the bill who promise to bring a large supportive crown in MTK signed fighters David Seymour and Luke Beasley.

Due to the recent tragedy at Walsall Town Hall, we are obligated to begin searching every one who attends our shows upon entry. We have never had any issues of this kind at any of our promotions, but we are pro-active in ensuring that this continues moving forward and this is an unfortunate circumstance of this. We want everybody at our shows to enjoy themselves and feel safe and this is a step we are taking to further ensure this. We trust we have your understanding.
