Showy wins with 2 days notice
Flyweight Reiss Taylor aka “Showy” calmed victory in his second pro fight with only two days notice at the Savoy hotel London (23/1/17). Officially the smallest boxer in the UK standing 4 foot 11, Showy was informed on Tuesday that he would be fighting on Thursday. As part of the Eastside gym family he was never going to turn down this 4 round fight.
Showy won his 4 rounder on points on the Mickey Helliet show, Showy informed me “I was told on Tuesday and I fought today (Thursday)”. When I asked him how the fight went he told me “he was a very awkward fighter but my engine was on point he was a very tricky customer”. I then asked Showy how he felt on getting his first win? He said “I’m feeling relieved and happy I got the win, on to the next one”.
Dexter's Thoughts
I was chuffed to bits when I heard Showy had won this last minute fight in London, he maybe the smallest boxer in the UK but he has a big heart and has the Eastside gym mentally of taking any fight that is offered. I will be hoping that Showy gets to fight closer to home soon and show off his talents in his home town of Birmingham.
