Great Line up for Matchroom's Birmingham show

Great Line up for Matchroom's Birmingham show

September 8th see’s Eddie Hearns Matchroom promotions role into Birmingham with a great line up of Birmingham's and the black country’s top talent on display. Headlining the show at the Birmingham Arena that will be aired live on Sky sports is Bolton’s former world champion Amir Khan taking on Samuel Vargas.

The undercard is a real big draw for the Birmingham and Black country community as there are some great local fighters contesting for titles.

The big one has got to be the rematch between former British Middleweight Champ Tommy Langford and the New British Middleweight Champ Jason Welborn. The first encounter was epic and will definitely be one of the fights of the year if not thee fight of the year, if this fight is half as good as the first one it will be well worth the entrance fee. This is a 50/50 fight and could go either way and this is a rematch I am looking forward to seeing.

The explosive Sam Eggington is also on the undercard doing a 10 rounder with his opponent yet to be named. Eggington who has moved up to super welterweight and has already claimed the IBO Continental title. This may be the last time Eggington fights in Birmingham for a while as the rumors are he will be fighting in America next and a world titles could be on the cards very soon.

Matchroons unbeaten Lightweight boxer Lewis Ritson will also be on the show, Ritson (24) has a 16- 0 record his opponent is yet to be named and will be doing a 8 rounder. The Newcastle lad will be out to impress on the live show.

Next up on the list is another unbeaten Matchroom fighter super welterweight Scott Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald will be taking on the talented Midlands fighter Craig Morris. Fitzgerald had a 10 fight unbeaten record but Morris has only lost once in his 12 fight career which should make this a very interesting fight.

Matchroom’s Super Bantamweight Gamel Yafia is also schedule to be on the show his opponent yet to be announced, the Birmingham boxer (27) will be looking to add another W to his 15 wins out 16 fights.

Continuing this great line up is the highly anticipated Midlands area title match over 10 rounds between current super welterweight champion Ryan Kelly (24) and unbeaten challenger Kelcie Ball (27). This is going to be another cracking fight if the sparring I have witnessed between them in the passed is anything to go by. This is a great match up of styles and could well be fight of the night, Kelly has had the more fights winning 11 out of 12 bouts with Ball winning all 9 of his fights. Another 50/50 fight where I could not pick the winner of.

Matchrooms Qais Ashfaq will be having his first 6 rounder against Southampton's Ricky Little, Ashfaq (25) has won his first two pro fights and is looking to keep his unbeaten record. Little (27) has had six fights winning 3 and drawing one so this could be a interesting one.

You also have 22 year old unbeaten super welterweight Kieron Conway (8-0) from Notingham doing a six rounder and another unbeaten fighter super Bantamweight (12-0) Osman Aslam (24) from Bolton also doing a six rounder.

Last but by no means least we have one of the Birmingham boxing Column’s boxer to watch Shakan Pitters (29), the unbeaten (6-0) 6 foot 6 cruiserweight will probably start the show with a 4 rounder. This is a great stage for the talented boxer as he prepares to fight for the Midlands area very soon.

This is going to be a cracking show and not one to be missed with the best talent from Birmingham and the Black Country.
