Things That Go Bump In The Night Round-Up
English Bantamweight Champion Kyle Williams closed in on a shot at the British Title with a punch perfect victory over Nicaragua’s Elvis Guillen at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday evening.
The Wolverhampton boxer topped BCB Promotions’ five-fight card, sponsored by Grosvenor Casino Walsall, and hardly put a foot, or glove, wrong as he cruised to a 60-54 points win.
Dudley’s Danny Ball claimed the biggest shock of the evening as he inflicted only a 13th stoppage defeat over Kevin McCauley. That may not seem quite a feat but when you consider McCauley is a veteran of 205 fights, and 178 losses, it shows just how tough the Halesowen Road Warrior is. Ball moved to 7-0 and has his sights on an Area Title Challenge in 2019.
Birmingham born heavyweight, Kash Ali, extended his unbeaten start to life as a professional boxer with a 14th straight win. Ali walked Bristol’s Phil Williams down over 6 before, just like Ball, stopping his man in the final round.
Tividale’s Ryan ‘Stewart’ Davies edged past the always tough Chris Adaway to move to 7-1. ‘Rhino’ grabbed a 40-38 decision.
Finally, Burntwood’s former kickboxing sensation, Troi Coleman, made it two wins in as many months with a closely fought 39-38 win over Lancashire’s Darryl Sharp.
