Twenty five year old Nyall Berry secured the English super bantamweight title at the legendary York Hall Bethnal Green London 15/3/25. The Chelmsly wood warrior took on Lewis Frimpong (34) from Oxford for the vacant title. Frimpong came into the English contest with a record of nine wins and only one defeat. Berry had only one blemishes on his thirteen fight record losing in a IBF European title fight being stopped in the eighth round.
Berry fighting out of the away corner with his Eastside team behind him in a frantic three round shootout. Both fighters went for it in this short but entertaining contest. Frimpong was game enough ask questions of Berry who’s ‘None Stop’ approach having all the answers. The end came in the third round with Frimpong coming forward looking to land shot but with Berry landing a nice combination ending with a sweet uppercut. Frimpong crumbled to the floor and some how got to his feet. The ref Lee Every saw how unsteady Frimpong looked and waved off the contest with Berry being crowned English Super Bantamweight champion.

Dexter’s Thoughts
I'm chuffed to bits to see Nyall win his first title, he has always had the potential to fight at the highest level and this English title could just be the first of many. Just three fights after he was stopped by Francesco De Rosa for the IBF European super Bantamweight he and his team have learned from this and has made a big statement with this stoppage victory. I have heard that Berry will be looking to drop a weight and contest for titles at Bantamweight. I think what ever Berry and his team choose to do Nyall is a very talented fighter and has a very exciting future a head of him. I can see Berry fighting for British or European titles soon and who knows world titles could be in his future.
Congratulations to Nyall Berry and his team and I look forward to reporting on more title fights very soon.
