Christopher Goes To Eight Without Defeat

Twenty-seven-year-old Tyler Christopher also known as Mike Tyler took his record to eight without defeat at the Tommy Owens Promotions show at the H-Suite Edgbaston (21.10.23). DnA gyms Tyler was taking on Twenty-eight-year-old Connor Meanwell who was having his fifth fight winning two and drawing two in a four-round Middleweight contest. Tyler weighed in eleven stone one with Meanwell coming in eleven stone five with Ryan Churchill reffing.

 Chris

Tyler picked his shots well in the first round where he was in full control with great movement and nice combinations. Great jabbing, hooks, and movement in the second by Tyler controlled the round against a very game opponent. Meanwell started to put some real pressure on Tyler in the third but Tyler dealt with it well check hooking off the ropes and winning the round with his great movement and shot-picking. Meanwell tried to turn the last round into a brawl as Tyler boxed well using his jab and didn’t get drawn into Meanwell’s plan.

Judge Chris Dean scored it 39 to 37 Tyler I had it 39 to 37 Tyler, I had it 40 to 36 Tyler

Dexter’s Thoughts

Great performance by Christopher (Tyler) Meanwell came to have a go tonight but was met by a fighter who in my opinion is destined to win titles. Tyler moved well around the ring and even when Meanwell put it on him didn’t panic and boxed on the back foot with ease. He is now eight without defeat and he has got to be looking at challenging for the Midlands area in the next few fights. He is in one of the hottest divisions in the Midlands at the moment and I think needs one or two more 6 rounders before he challenges for the Midlands. Tyler is a talented fighter who I think will have a great future ahead of him.
