Hot Prospect Conor Baker won every round of his fourth professional fight at the BcB show ‘Summer Showdown’ in Dudley (19.7.24). The unbeaten twenty-seven-year-old from Tipton was taking on the very game Jordan Ellison (28) from Sunderland in a four three-minute rounds contest. Baker weighed in ten stone one with Ellison came in ten stone four in a cruiserweight contest with Pete McCormick reffing.
High-paced the first round with Ellison coming to have a go, this was a very competitive round with Baker just edging it with some nice backhands and uppercuts. Ellison kept the fight competitive in the second but Baker moved well and was landing some cracking backhands and the eye-catching shots worked the head and body well.
Another competitive round with Ellison continued to press, Baker continued to move and boxed well landing the eye-catching shots winning the round. The pace slowed down in the fourth round but it soon started to pick up as both fighters exchanged shots in the middle of the ring, Ellison continued to press but Baker won the round with cleaner shots.
Ref Pete McCormick scored it 40 to 36 Baker I had it the same.
Dexter’s Thoughts
First I’d like to say what a game opponent Ellison was for Baker’s fourth contest, Ellison kept the fight competitive and really gave Baker a test. But with that I have to say Baker dealt with this challenge well showcasing his boxing skills and winning every round of this very competitive fight. Baker is now four without defeat and I think his next fight should be over six rounds to get him ready to fight for a Midlands title in the near future. This was a great performance by Bajer and I look forward to seeing him out again very soon.
