Bradley Goldsmith notch up his fifth stoppage in his eight fight pro career at the Hangar Venue Wolverhampton (14.7.23). The Coventry born twenty-four-year-old was taking on Egidijus Zukas (34) from Lithuanian that was advertised as a six-rounder but was turned into a four-rounder. The contest was arrested super Middleweight and was on the Black Country Boxing Promotions show named Havco at the Hangar V which consisted of seven fights. Goldsmith weighed in eleven stone ten with Zukas coming in eleven stone eleven with Kevin Parker reffing.
Great shot picking from Goldsmith as he shot out sharp jabs bloodying Zukas nose and winning the first round with ease. Goldsmith really started putting his shot together in the second and getting some evil combinations off with Zukas looking like he didn’t want to be there. Goldsmith continued to land heavy shots banging in a flurry of body shots to Zukas body with the left hook looking like it did the damage, Zukas went down with ref Kevin Parker counting him out two minutes twenty seconds of the second.
Dexter’s Thoughts
Great performance by Goldsmith who takes his record to eight wins without defeat, he has now stopped five of his opponents and really needs to step up and be tested. He is ready in my opinion to have a crack at the Midlands area title which would be at Middleweight. At the moment on the BBBC website River Wilson-Bent is still the champ which with no disrespect to Goldsmith would be a big ask for him to win. But I have a feeling Wilson Bent has or would vacate this title and let Goldsmith and another prospect battle it out for it. Goldsmith is definitely a boxer to watch and I have no doubt that titles are in his future, I look forward to reporting on this talented fighter.
