Big hitting Troy Jones is looking to extend his knockout streak when he steps through the ropes on February 16th at the H Suite in Birmingham on BCB Promotions ‘February Firepower’.
The 25-year-old from Tamworth is unbeaten in eight bouts since turning professional in 2021, and his last five foes have all failed to make it to the final bell.
Patryk Polasik, Konstantin Aleksandrov, John Tilil, and Harry Matthews were all brushed aside inside four rounds, but he faced a tricker test last time out against Poland’s Michal Ludwiczak.
Suffering an early knockdown, Jones responded brilliantly, breaking down Ludwiczak before forcing a stoppage in the fourth of their six scheduled rounds.
“It was a step up from my previous fights; Ludwiczak had a winning record, and he definitely came to get the win. I had a bit of a scare early on, but I just left the lead hand low and got caught. It was only a flash knockdown and was a bit of a wake-up call. The main thing is how I reacted to finishing the round strong and then getting the stoppage.
“My coach was happy with how I handled it and advised afterwards that I take a few months off after having three fights in a short space of time. Even though I didn’t have another fight last year, I was never out of the gym.
“I want to push on now and keep stepping up the opposition. I’m hoping for someone with a similar record to my last one or better; I don’t want to step back in levels.
“My ambitions are huge. I am entering the last stage of my apprenticeship. Now, I’m not saying I wouldn’t want to be a Midlands champion; I just see myself targeting the English title and the big nights. I can’t wait to be back in Birmingham with my fans behind me on the 16th in a packed room.
Tickets are available now for £40 standard and £75 VIP from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com.
