The unbeaten hot prospect Dylan Norman made a big statement as he moved into the semi-finals of the Top Boxer Tournament by stopping veteran fighter Louis Fielding in a sensational first round stoppage. Norman (23) from Knowle who is coached by former British Middleweight champ Wayne Elcock came into the contest as a lot of people favourite to win the whole thing with an unbeaten record of four without defeat. Fielding (33) from Tamworth who has contested for the Midlands area title on three occasions came into the contest with a record of ten wins and eight defeats. Both fighters came into this contest weighing nine stone nine in this four round quarter final with Ryan Churchill reffing.
Norman came out with an intent to end this fight quickly as he flew over to engage with Fielding, Norman just let his hands go from the first bell and didn’t give Fielding a chance to set himself pinning Fielding on the ropes and letting hurtful shots off until Fielding took a knee. Fielding took the count and continued but Norman just stepped back in and the onslaught continued until Fielding went down for the second time. Fielding got up and was allowed to continue but was then caught with a lovely left hook that dropped him for the third time with ref Ryan Churchill stopping the contest.
Norman wins first round stoppage and moves to the Semi Finals of the TOP Boxer Tournament.
Dexter’s Thoughts
First of all my heart and prayers go out to Dylan and his family on there tragic loss after his Grandmother passed away after seeing him win his biggest fight to date.
Dylan made a big statement in the TOP Boxer Tournament as he has to be the favourite to win it. He didn’t give Fielding time to settle and went after him from the first bell and from the first time Fielding went down you knew the writing was on the wall for the Tamworth’s fighter as Norman showed controlled aggression dropping him another two time in the round before the ref stopped it. Norman showed tonight that he is destined for bigger things and with the backing of his coach Wayne Elcock I can see this hot prospect at least emulating his coach and may be doing even better.
Once again my heat and prayers go out to Dylan and his family.
