Twenty-two-year-old Ibraheem Sulaimaan also known as ‘Spider’ has lived up to all the huge as he get a first round stoppage in his debut live on DAZN. Spider from Birmingham was taking on Italian Michel Gonxhe (31) who had a record of five wins and one draw in nine contests. The contest was on the undercard of the Next Gen Matchroom show which was held in Spiders home town at the Utilita Arena Birmingham. Spider who is managed and advised by Grime Artist Jaykay had bought a army of followers who came to cheer him on. Spider and Gonxhe both weighed in nine stone ten in a super lightweight fight over four rounds, with Ryan Churchill reffing.
Spider came out firing landing a big left hand right at the start of the first round, Spider used control aggression picking eye-catching hurtful shots measuring Gonxhe as all he could do is cover up. Spider landed a cracking right hook which put Gonxhe on the ropes, Spider then landed a lovely body shot then followed up with another hurtful combinations with few Ryan Churchill jumping in to stop the fight in one minute twenty-seven second of the first round.
Dexter’s Thoughts
If you are going to make your debut on a big Matchroom show which will be streamed around the world this is the performance you want to put on. Spider showed that the hype is very real and that he is the real deal with this performance against a fighter with a positive record. He came out firing and did not let his opponent set and hit him with some hurtful shots. Spider is without doubt a talented fighter with all the skills in the locker to get to world level and with his manager and adviser Jaykay and his team behind him I can see him doing big thing in boxing and putting Birmingham on the map. I look forward to seeing him box again very soon.
