‘Spider’ Ibraheem Sulaimaan scored his third victory and kept his unbeaten record as he starred on Matchroom's Next Gen show live on DAZN at the O2 Indigo arena (10.02.24). The Twenty-four-year-old Lightweight from Birmingham was given the task on very short notice to take on the unbeaten Twenty-eight-year-old Jordan Timasoni whose record stood a four wins and one draw. The contest was scheduled for four three-minute rounds in the lightweight division with Tomasoni weighing nine stone ten and Sulaimaan coming in nine stone nine with ‘A’ star ref Howard Foster reffing.
Both fighters started well as they both took a look at each other, both fighters got nice shots off in a very close round but Tomasoni just edged it. Tomasoni landed a nice backhand at the start of the second round which seemed to wake up Spider who let some nice fast combinations off.
Tomasoni landed some good shots in the round but Spider came on strong switch-hitting as he grew into the fight winning the round with ease. Tomasoni took the center of the ring in the third as Spider moved well and continued to switch hit, Tomasoni moved in on Spider as he was on the ropes Spider Countered with a cracking uppercut which rocked Tomasoni Spider then went on the attack not wasting any shots landing a cracking backhand with Tomasoni’s legs bunkering and then landing a left hook before ref Howard Foster jumped in and stopped it one minute thirty-five seconds in the third round.

Dexter’s Thoughts
What a performance by Sulaimaan as he takes his record to three without defeat against an unbeaten fighter who came to win. Sulaimaan took his time in the first and stepped it up in the second showcasing great movement and shot-picking with the finish in the third etherizing the potential this Birmingham hot prospect has. I do not doubt that he is destined to contest for world honours and I can see him fighting for domestic titles very soon. He continues to impress me and with Matchroom promotions and his manager Rapper Jakay behind him the future looks bright for Spider, I look forward to seeing him out again very soon.
