James Scarrott has vacated his Midlands Area welterweight title that he won on February 16th at the H Suite in Birmingham against Jamie Stewart. The 20-year-old from Worcester put on an impressive ten round display that saw him come away with a 97-93 points decision and showed he was capable of stepping up to the championship distance.
Unbeaten Scarrott will now look for new opportunities at super lightweight and will be working with his team to secure another major fight soon.
BCB Promotions are thrilled to announce that Ben Vaughan and Liam Gould will clash for the vacant Midlands Area welterweight title on April 12th's ‘Collision Course’ at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.
Both men have only tasted victory as professionals with Vaughan unbeaten in eight and Gould unbeaten in six contests. So much has been their dominance that neither have lost a single round in their combined fourteen bouts.
Vaughan looked in brilliant form with a shut-out points win on February 17th in his hometown of Northampton against the tough Dale Arrowsmith. Gould who is from Coseley is also full of confidence after getting the first stoppage of his career on Saturday night dismantling Shane Smith inside five rounds.
Somebody’s 0 has got to go!
“It’s great to add a second title fight to the show and to have two unbeaten fighters willing to take on the challenge is refreshing said promoter Errol Johnson. Northampton boxing fans will have plenty to look forward to with Michael Stephensons title defence against Cliff Henry and now this. Many of the best fighters in the country started out by winning their area belt and a win for either man could take them to the next level.”
Tickets for ‘Collision Course’ are available now priced £40 standard and £80 Ringside VIP from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com
