Williams and Latimer Shine On There Debuts

BcB showcased two of their new fighter on there Dudley show ‘Summer Showdown’ (19.7!24) with Blane Williams and Callum Latimer debuting. Williams from Selly Oak was taking on Santiago Graces (21) from Colombia with Williams weighing in ten stone two and Grace’s ten stone five in a welterweight contest with Pete McCormick. Twenty year old Callum Latimer from Kettering was taking on Lithuanian Simas Volosinas (33) in a Super lightweight contest with Latimer weighing in nine stone nine and Volosinas coming in nine stone eleven with Kevin Parker reffing.

We start off with Blaine Williams.

Williams was on the front foot from the first bell on his debut banging in great shots to the head and body with Graces looking to cover up. Williams continued his high pace attack in the second round and had Graces backing up as he landed some big hooks to the head and body.

Williams continued to land big shots in the third but Graces had a go back landing some nice shots of his own, Williams won the round on his work-rate. Graces showed that he had a hood jaw as Williams landed heavy hooks several times, Williams boxed well picking good shots to win the round and the contest.

Ref Pete McCormick scored it 40 to 36 Williams I had it the same.

Next we have Callum Latimer

Everything came off a sharp jab from Latimer who landed some heavy backhands to Volosinas head and body winning the first round. Some nice eye-catching shots coming off Latimer’s sharp jab as he controlled the second round winning it with ease.

Latimer picked his shots well in the third as he controlled the third round with Volosinas not offering much offence. Volosinas had a go in the final round but was soon on the defensive when Latimer put some nice combinations together with his jab controlling the fight and winning it.

Ref Kevin Parker scored the contest 40 – 36 I had it the same.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Great performance by both debutants who showcased their skills on the BcB show. Williams looked very aggressive with an exciting come-forward style that fans will love. Williams started fast with big hooks and in the final round showcased his boxing skills using his jab well.

Latimer showcased his skills with everything coming off a sharp jab with some great backhands to the head and the body and looked like an established professional. Latimer also has an exciting style and will be a crowd-pleaser and I can see both fighters doing well in their careers. I look forward to seeing both fighters out again soon.
